Everyone’s health and well-being is our top priority, so in 2021, MMA is bringing the Capitol to Minnesota physicians and physicians-in-training! MMA Advocacy Week spreads activities out over several days the week of February 8, to minimize disruption to patient care and maximize participation. The virtual event will include a noontime Zoom session with tips on how to be more effective at advocacy, a live address from a state legislator with time for Q&A, and a concerted communications campaign to lobby lawmakers!
Schedule:
Monday, February 8 - Overview of MMA’s Legislative Priorities (virtual session noon-1pm)
Tuesday, February 9 - Communication Tools for Effective Advocacy (no virtual session; tools will be posted online and provided via email)
Wednesday, February 10 - Conversation with a Minnesota Legislator (virtual session noon-1pm)
Thursday, February 11 - Hour of Action! (no virtual session; an opportunity to contact your legislators from noon-1 pm)
Friday, February 12 - Closing and next steps (email tips and instructions sent out this day)
We need to get involved and raise our voices to ensure that health care laws are passed with input from physicians and physicians-in-training! To be successful, we need all of organized medicine involved!
Together, let’s ensure our collective voices are heard.
